Objective of the Game

Teen Patti wants to have the best three-card hand or to bluff other players into folding, leaving you as the last player standing. Usually involving three to six players, the game uses a regular 52-card deck excluding jokers.

Basic Rules

Setting Up the Game

Ante: Every player offers a before the game starts a small, predetermined amount to the pot, known as the "ante" or "boot."

Dealing Cards: The dealer mixes the cards and deals three cards to each player face down. Players must keep their cards hidden from others.

Betting Rounds

The game progresses with betting rounds, where Players could bet, raise, call, or fold.

Bet/Raise: To increase the amount in the pot.

Call: To match the current highest bet.

Fold: To exit the game if you feel your hand is not strong enough to win.

Gameplay

Blind and Seen Players

Blind: A player who chooses not to look at their cards is considered "blind." Blind players must place a bet that is at least equal to the current stake but no more than twice the stake.

Seen: A player who chooses to look at their cards is considered "seen." Seen players must place a bet that is at least twice the current stake but no more than four times the stake.

Show

A "show" can only occur wh`en there are two players remaining in the game. One player requests a show, comparing the hands of the two players.

The player with the higher-ranking hand wins the pot.

Hand Rankings

Understanding the hand rankings is crucial to playing Teen Patti. The hands are ranked from highest to lowest as follows:

Trail

(Set/Trio)

Three cards of the same rank(e.g., three Aces).

Pure Sequence

(Straight Flush)

Three cards consecutive of the same suit (e.g., 5, 6, 7 of hearts).

Sequence

(Straight)

Three consecutive cards not of the same suit (e.g., 3 of diamonds, 4 of spades, 5 of hearts).

Color

(Flush)

Three cards from the same suit, not in sequence (e.g., 2, 6, 10 of clubs).

Pair

(Two of a Kind)

Two cards of the same rank (e.g., two Queens).

High Card

If no other hand is formed, The winner is found by the highest card one has in hand (e.g., Ace, 9, 4).

Variations of Teen Patti

Teen Patti has several popular variations, each with its own unique twist. Here are a few common ones: 

Joker

Some cards are chosen as jokers, which can be used as any card to complete a hand. 

Muflis

In this version, the cards Aces, Kings, Fours, and Sevens are considered Jokers. The multiple Jokers create numerous possibilities for strong hands, making the game unpredictable and exciting. 

AK47

Aces, Kings, Fours, and Sevens are jokers, adding more possibilities for strong hands. 

999

The goal is to have a hand closest to 999 using the three cards dealt. 

Special Rules and Tips

Blind vs. Seen Betting: Blind players have the advantage of lower betting requirements but must rely on luck. Seen players, while having the information, must bet higher amounts.

Chaal: After the first bet is placed, players can choose to bet (chaal) or fold in each subsequent round.

Show:  If you are confident that your hand is stronger than your opponent’s, you can demand a show. However, be cautious as this reveals both hands and ends the game.
